Kodiak Certification: AirVenture 2007 Recap

Sunday, July 29, 2007 | Wittman Regional Airport, Oshkosh, Wisconsin ... By all accounts AirVenture 2007 was one of the best Oshkosh air shows ever. Judging by the number of significant announcements (you know...the ones where the drape is removed and there's actually something amazing underneath), it's been a great year for aviation and a fantastic time to be a part of the aviation industry. We've been told that well over 500,000 people attended this year. Some days it felt like we talked with all of them. Oshkosh is always a excellent place to catch up with old friends, and this year we made a whole bunch of new friends. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and spent a little time with us. We are always honored by your enthusiasm.

Here's a look at this year's Quest booth.

Of course, for Quest the big news this year is that KODIAK has received FAA Type Certification. As you can imagine this is a huge milestone for the entire Quest team. And so, one of our brightest moments was a visit from FAA Administrator Marion Blakey on Friday. She kindly stopped by to congratulate Paul Schaller (President and CEO of Quest), present our framed Type Certificate, and accept a model of the KODIAK commemorating the date.

She took some time to tour the Quest booth, climb into KODIAK for a first hand look, and talk a little with Paul and the rest of the staff.

That was definitely a significant highlight for us. Then there was the jaw dropping show put on by the Air Force F-22 Raptor and the Beach Boys packing out AeroShell Square. What an amazing week.

We look forward to seeing you next year.
