KODIAK Makes First Oshkosh Appearance

s/n 1 on display at EAA AirVenture

July 25, 2005, Oshkosh, WI...Quest Aircraft's KODIAK is making its inaugural appearance at EAA's AirVenture today. The aircraft arrived in Oshkosh over the weekend and will be on display for the duration of the show in the Quest booth, #S-14.

“We've had a lot of interest in the KODIAK, especially since our initial public debut in Alaska,” stated Paul Schaller, President and CEO.  “We're excited to bring the airplane to Oshkosh and showcase its unique capabilities to a worldwide audience.”

The KODIAK, which has logged over 200 hours toward FAA certification, made its first public appearance in May at the Alaska State Aviation Trade Show, where the company began accepting customer deposits. To-date, Quest has 12 customer deposits for the airplane. Base price for the KODIAK is $1,111,000.

Several orders are for personal use, including one customer who will take delivery of his KODIAK with floats. Other orders come from operators who will use the KODIAK for part 135 charter and scheduled flight operations.  The IFR capabilities and high reliability of the turboprop KODIAK are important requirements for this market segment. The balance of the initial orders are from customers in the Humanitarian / Mission market where rugged reliability and a high useful load are especially critical

“These orders represent three of the five primary market segments that have appropriate applications for the KODIAK,” added Schaller. The company is also targeting governmental and special use markets as well as international markets.

Following its appearance at EAA AirVenture, the KODIAK will return to Sandpoint to continue the flight test program. Certification is well underway and planned for completion in early 2006, with customer deliveries immediately following.

Quest Aircraft, LLC is the manufacturer of the KODIAK, a 10-place single engine turboprop utility airplane, designed to be float capable.  Headquartered in Sandpoint, Idaho, Quest was established in 2001, and currently employs more than 50 skilled personnel. The company recently completed a 57,000 square foot expansion to its facility that will house the KODIAK production line.
